The Department includes the following Subject areas:

  • Engineering for the Environment and the Territory
  • Civil Engineering
  • Construction Engineering - Architecture

The following governing bodies manage all Subject areas:

  • the Coordinator;
  • the Committee;
  • the Commission;
  • the Self-evaluation group of degree courses.

The Coordinator

The Coordinator is elected by the Department’s Board, among candidates who need to be permanent professors and members of the Committee of the Subject area.

The Coordinator is in charge for three academic years and can be renewed once only.

The Coordinator summons and chairs:

  • the Committee;
  • the Commission;
  • the Self-evaluation groups of the degree courses of the Subject area

The Committee

The Committee expresses mandatory opinions and proposals on topics related with teaching activities regarding degree courses of the Subject area.

Tasks

In particular, the Committee carries out the following tasks:

  • It plans and coordinates the teaching activities within the degree courses;
  • It supervises the programmes of the various subjects of the degree courses and it coordinates them;
  • It drafts and tables to the Department’s Council the Teaching contents, the Teaching Regulations and the annual teaching plans of the degree courses;
  • It debates the self-evaluation report drafted by the Self-evaluation group of the degree courses;
  • It expresses opinions and proposals regarding the creation of new teaching activities;
  • It expresses opinions and proposal regarding the regarding the allocation of teaching tasks in the degree courses and the employment of staff for teaching and non-teaching activities;
  • It expresses opinions and proposals regarding agreements with private and public institutions, in order to experiment new teaching activities, training and requalification activities.
  • It adopts, within the general coordination of the Department, new teaching modes and activities, different study and attendance modes, at experimental level;
  • It expresses opinions and proposals to the Department’s Council, regarding the purchase and use of laboratory equipment to be used for teaching activities.
