Activities

The laboratory conducts highly interdisciplinary research in the engineering and applied electromagnetics sciences, with a focus on computational methods for solving direct and inverse electromagnetic problems and wireless technologies. Major research activities include analysis and design using innovative optimization and artificial intelligence methodologies of advanced systems, architectures, and devices for wireless communications, remote sensing, localization, and tracking applied to information and energy reception-transmission, smart cities and environments, distributed monitoring and emergency management systems, precision agriculture, art conservation, biomedicine, and the Internet of Things.
In these application contexts, the lab promotes university education, including lifelong learning (long-life learning), locally, nationally, and internationally through the organization of schools, workshops, and events, in addition to the teaching activities conducted regularly in the Department's and University's courses of study. The laboratory also engages in the development of innovation in the field of applied electromagnetics through external collaborations and research project activities.
