Michael DUMBSER

2013: Honorary Fellow of the European Society of Computational Methods in Sciences, Engineering and Technology, for the outstanding contribution in the fields of Computational Mathematics and Numerical Analysis.  

2007: Richard-von-Mises Award of the European Society of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM), for the progress made in applied mathematics and mechanics, in particular concerning the development of high order accurate numerical schemes for linear and nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equations. Value: € 1.500.

2007: Heinz Maier-Leibnitz award of the German National Science Foundation (DFG), for the scientific progress made in the field of computational fluidmechanics. The award was handed over during a special ceremony on 06/05/2007 in Bonn by the German minister of research and education, Dr. A. Schavan. Value: € 16.000 .

2006: Hugo-Denkmeier Award of the German Center for Aerospace research (DLR) for the youngest PhD student graduating in Aerospace engineering with "summa cum laude". Value: € 1.500

2003: Award for the excellence in teaching (Landeslehrpreis 2003) of the Ministry of Research and Education for the lecture "Numerical Gasdynamics" at the University of Stuttgart (together with Claus- Dieter Munz and Sabine Roller). Value: € 20.000
